Photography

Well I am trying to improve my photography.

Went on a Birds of Prey day course in November as my birthday present from a friend and she came too. We enjoyed it so much that I have booked us on a Big Cats Day in April.
Christmas and birthday present for my friend.
I have an e-mail today from the tutor and he mentions a wide angle lens...and that is what I have been thinking about for ages.

Landscapes...whole body action shots of Big Cats....practise for Southern Africa.

So I shall be getting a Canon lens soon.Got to check out which one.

Lens is in the air or should that be lens are in the air?

I think you'll find that it's either:

Lens (singlular) IS in the air
OR
Lenses (plural) ARE in the air

But then I could be wrong!

What sort of lens are you looking for?

Hi Tricia

Wide angle for my canon altho at this rate I might have to have another camera body as well(!) as all this fiddling with different lens are/is a fath!

28-70 or similar says my Tutor...the Big Cats one!
But I shall have a look at Pats tonight before we do the wine tasting game my neice gave me for Christmas!

28 is NOT wide on your canon

with the 1.6 crop factor 28-70 is equiv to 44-112. T had a 28-80 and she was amazed how narrow it was when compared to me

realistically you need need a 17/18 something. 17-85 IS from a canon. I use a Tamron 17-50 f2.8

C - you might want to look at other makes other than Canon. Try Sigma or Tamron. I would be looking at 17 or 18 at the lower end rather than 28. Might be worth a trip to a camera shop for ideas/advice?

Corinna - Referring to Pete's post. If you go to my blog (6 Jan) you'll see a comparison between a 28-80 and a 18-50 lens. Taken in the same spot!
